History
The theater was built by architects J.B. McElfatrick, Israels & Harder in 1903. The theater was built by theraticral producer Henry B. Harris and was managed by his wife after his death. The theater was used as a Television studio from the 1930's through the 50's. In 1974 the theater was converted into a movie theater. In 1980 it was again converted into the Savoy rock club.
In 1987, it received landmark status, so owner Henry Macklowe incorporated it into his adjacent hotel, using it as a conference center and auditorium. [1]
Currently, primarily used as a conference and party space for rent through the Millennium Broadway Hotel.
