La Esméralda is a silent short film based on the novel The Hunchback of Notre Dame written by Victor Hugo and directed by the French director couple Alice Guy-Blaché (18731968) and Victorin-Hippolyte Jasset (18621913). The first-mentioned was the first female director in the world.

There are two characters in the film, Esmeralda (Denise Becker) and Quasimodo (Henry Vorins). The film is the oldest film adaptation of novel The Hunchback of Notre Dame.
